On the Night of the 19th January 80 members of the club were treated to right old Scottish celebration in honour of Rabbie Burns, the Bard of Ayrshire the Ploughman Poet.
Entertained by Debbie & Ed Maddox who played the Violine and Bagpipes for our delectation and absolute delight. Debbie playing Auld-Lang-Syne to greet us to the celebration and to sit at our tables followed by an interesting rendition by Ed of many famous bagpipe marches to pipe in the Haggis.
Amply supplied with an amazing array of traditional Scottish fare starting with Cock-a-leekie soup followed by wonderful Haggis and sausages with neeps and tatties and to finally top it of some rather lovely deserts (probably not all of Scottish decent but who cares).
An evening of great merriment, conversation and all went home thoroughly stuffed and contented.
A big thanks to Martin & Claire Wilcox, Ed & Debbie Maddox and their team for putting on a fab night!!!
